Vincenzo Pascucci

Full Professor

Short bio

Full Professor of Geology in the Department of Architecture, Design, and Urban Planning. He earned his degree in Geology from the University of Siena in 1990. After completing his PhD in 1997, he was a Post-doctoral Fellow at Dalhousie University, Canada.
Since 2002, he has been a professor at the University of Sassari, where he teaches Marine Geology, Applied Geology, Coastal Conservation, and Sedimentology.
His research focuses on reconstructing the evolution of Mediterranean coastal sedimentary environments in response to climate changes over the past 120,000 years, with a specific interest in human-environment interactions. This work relies on luminescence dating to establish chronologies for depositional and climatic events.
More recently, his research has expanded to include the study of surface geological processes on Mars, with the aim of applying luminescence dating techniques to determine the timing of these events.
