Short bio

Oumeima Yezza, born in 1993 in Tunisia, is a PhD candidate in Architecture and Environment at the University of Sassari. She obtained her National Diploma in Architecture from the Higher School of Architecture, Audiovisual and Design (ESAD). She also has a joint Master’s degree in Urban Planning  from the University of Sassari (UNISS) and the National School of Architecture and Urbanism of Tunis (ENAU). Her education and work experience cover architectural, urban, and environmental design. Her research looks at how to include pre-disaster planning in spatial planning to help island territories become more resilient. Her doctoral project suggests moving from a reactive to a proactive approach in territorial planning. It highlights using knowledge about hazards and impacts as a tool for managing territory.
