Admissions

Access to degree courses is programmed and is by ministerial test only. Instructions for enrolment and the maximum number admitted are indicated each year in specific details published by the University of Sassari at all Student Secretariats and on the Faculty website. Each year places are reserved for students from outside Europe.

Applying for Architecture

Starting from academic year 2010/2011 the degree courses in Architecture are based on the 3 year Bachelors course + the 2 year Masters course. The Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Design consists of two parallel course-tracks, one mainly oriented towards urban, territorial and architectonic spatial planning and design, the other focusing on design of products, services and communication. There are 50 places altogether for the Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Design. Admission is granted after sitting the entrance exam that takes place at the beginning of September.

The 2 year Master's degree in Architecture (the Italian "laurea magistrale") will accept students from academic year 2013/2014. Admission is based on the evaluation of applicant's academic curriculum.

Applying for Design

Since academic year 2010/2011 Design is taught within the Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Design (see information above).

Applying for Urban Planning

There are 30 places available for Urban Planning . Admission will be granted after the evaluation of applicants who attend a ten day induction course scheduled to start in mid September. A maximum of 60 students will be admitted to the induction course (60 students will be selected for the induction course based on their A-level or Maturità Exam results). Students completing the induction will be awarded 3 University Credits.

With a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Planning, Agricultural Studies, Engineering or Geography, students can apply for the international Master's Degree in Environmental Policies and Planning . Students will receive a double award: the Italian "laurea magistrale" and a European Master. One semester will be spent at The Technical University of Lisbon, at the University of Girona or at l'Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona. Admission is based on the evaluation of applicant's academic curriculum.
