Luminescence dating techniques are very well established providing ages of late Quaternary Earth deposits (up to 1My) but limited to laboratory analysis with response time between 3 to 12 months. PODIUM addresses the technological and economic viability of an innovative instrument for geochronology of Mars’ as well as Earth surface sampling with applications in Geology and Archaeology: a portable instrument for planetary, (robotic) as well as human exploration on Earth.
