His professional profile is characterised by his academic training in spatial, urban and environmental planning, as well as soil science. After obtaining a diploma in agricultural engineering, he went on to complete a Bachelor's and Master's degree at the University of Sassari, writing theses on soil erosion, digital mapping and spatial planning support. He developed his professional skills through internships and work placements in environmental and technical-scientific fields before specialising in applied research. He worked as a research fellow on the Soil Observation System project, where he was responsible for designing data flows, relational databases and open-source digital tools for managing and disseminating soil data. He combines his research activities with university teaching assignments, applying environmental analysis models and producing cartography.
