Short bio

Graduated from the University of Florence with a thesis in Archaeology and specialized in archaeological disciplines, she specialized also in Ancient Topography at Sapienza University of Rome., PhD in Archaeology (Topography). She was professor in some Italian universities and researcher also in prestigious foreign institutions, including the American Academy of Sciences (winner of a Fulbright program). Speaker at many conferences and seminars and organizer of Ancient Topography congresses. She has participated in archaeological excavations and conducted numerous field surveys in Italy and abroad for the historical reconstruction of ancient landscapes also using technological applications, with particular attention to the persistence and transformations, environmental potential, urban planning, ancient construction techniques. A part of her research is focused on the analysis of ancient roads, on port systems, on Mediterranean routes.
