Short bio

Jorge Alejandro Lobos Contreras is an architect, educator and researcher, trained in Architecture at the University of Chile. He is the founder of the international network Emergency Architecture & Human Rights (EAHR), focused on the relationship between architectural design, humanitarian emergencies and human rights. He has carried out teaching and research activities as a visiting professor and visiting teacher at several international universities and schools of architecture across Europe and Latin America, contributing to postgraduate programmes, workshops and international master courses. His research and professional work address architecture in crisis contexts, resilience, the cultural dimension of design and the social role of architecture. He is the author and editor of books, essays and publications released internationally and has received awards and recognitions in architectural competitions and exhibitions.
