Josè Maria Miàs Gifre Associate Professor Short bio Josep Miàs Gifre, born in Banyoles in 1966, is an architect and academic. He obtained his degree in Architecture from the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB-UPC) in 1992. From 1989 he worked at the studio of Enric Miralles, collaborating as an associate architect until 2000, when he founded MiAS Arquitectes, based in Barcelona. He has been Associate Professor of Architectural Design at ETSAB-UPC since 1999 and has also taught design at La Salle School of Architecture. He has held academic leadership roles at ESARQ-UIC, serving as Head of the Design Department and Vice-Dean of the School of Architecture. He has carried out extensive international teaching activity as a Visiting Professor and invited lecturer at numerous architecture schools across Europe and internationally, including Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris-Versailles, Florence, Venice, and at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
