Internationalisation

Through the development of internationalisation, the Department aims to offer its students an educational experience that matches the best international experiences.

Since the Department's foundation, internationalisation has been regarded as a major strength and efforts have been made to create an international environment within the Department by developing a wide network of international contacts with the outside world. In the various degree courses, many leading figures in architecture, planning and design from both Italy and abroad have been invited to lecture, lead project workshops, and hold conferences and seminars.

Subsequently, the Department's international relations have developed through Erasmus+ mobility agreements for both study activities (Erasmus+ for Study) and internship activities (Erasmus+ for Traineeship). These agreements guarantee students the opportunity to gain study and traineeship experience abroad supported by a grant. But that's not all, in fact, Erasmus+ international agreements also offer grants to teachers and researchers for teaching mobility and to technical administrative staff for training mobility.

In addition to the Erasmus+ programme, the Department's students can also benefit from the support offered by our University's Ulysses Programme, particularly for activities in countries outside the European Erasmus+ partnership.

In addition to the Erasmus+ agreements, there are also international framework agreements for academic collaboration through which our students, doctoral students and lecturers have the opportunity to participate in international summer schools and seminars, to gain professional experience through internships, to take part in teaching activities and research projects.

The department's internationalisation objectives have also been realised with the establishment of an international Master's Degree Course. In fact, the Master's Degree Course in Planning and Policies for the City, the Environment and the Landscape also offers its enrolled students the possibility of choosing an international path that allows them to obtain a double degree with the École Nationale d'Architecture et d'Urbanisme of the University of Carthage in Tunisia.
