Ulisse Programme - Mobility for study and Traineeship

The Ulisse programme is a programme of the University of Sassari which was conceived to support student mobility, for study or training purposes, to non-European countries and to countries not included in the Erasmus+ Programme Countries. Following the establishment of the new Erasmus+ 2021/27 programme, which offers students the opportunity to carry out mobility also at universities and professional bodies in Partner Countries, the Ulysses Programme has joined the Erasmus+ Programme with the aim of increasing mobility opportunities outside the European Erasmus partnership since Erasmus grants for mobility to Partner Countries are limited.

In order to take part in the call for applications, which allows financial support for mobility, students must be regularly enrolled at the university and the period of placement or study abroad must be an integral part of their university career. Students may choose to undertake mobility at institutions with which the Department has signed an academic cooperation agreement, or they may individually choose a non-contracted host institution with which, particularly for study mobility, an ad hoc agreement will be signed. For mobility for traineeships, which for the Department are exclusively of the individual type, the Training Agreement, which each candidate must define together with the host institution and attach to the application, serves as the agreement. The Department's Internships, Relations and International Mobility Office provides the necessary support in the search for the host institution through the Department's network of international contacts.I contributi del programma Ulisse sono per mobilità fino ad un massimo di 3 mesi e prevedono un rimborso per il viaggio in base alla distanza del paese di destinazione ed un rimborso per le spese di vitto, alloggio, assicurazione e trasporti fino ad un massimo di 2000 euro per le mobilità pari o superiori a 3 mesi.

The home institute gives full recognition to the activity carried out and certified and the period of Ulisse mobility for both study and work placement is recorded in the student's career and in the Diploma Supplement.

Carrying out an Ulisse mobility allows students to have an even more intense experience abroad since in most cases these are very distant destinations and sometimes overseas. Students will thus have the opportunity to confront themselves with cultures very distant from their own, bringing into play their interpersonal and adaptive skills while enriching their academic and professional training. This experience is combined with the opportunity to learn a new language and explore new places.

Since the 2011/12 academic year, students in the Department have carried out activities with the Ulisse programme in various countries around the world, including: Japan, UAE, Nepal, China, several Latin American countries, USA, Malaysia, Canada, Vietnam, Indonesia, Iran, Thailand and Myanmar.
