The Lower Triassic Bunter Sandstone Fm in southern DK is a promising reservoir for geological CO₂, storage. The Volpriehausen Mb, composed of aeolian sandstones, shows excellent porosity (24.6%) and permeability (807 mD). The Rødby structure provides four-way dip closure for trapping. Experiments reveal low mineral reactivity with CO₂, mainly calcite dissolution. These characteristics make the formation a safe and efficient site for long-term carbon storage.

Lars Bjørn Clemmensen is Professor Emeritus of Sedimentology at the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, University of Copenhagen. Born in Copenhagen, he has dedicated his career to understanding Earth's sedimentary records, with a particular focus on coastal systems, aeolian dunes, and the climate history of the North Atlantic region.
